Ruston Housing is continuously involved in our community, often sponsoring events for the children, conducting sports camps and start of school distribution of supplies. We work closely with the Boys and Girls Club to offer after school and summer activities, as well as feeding programs.

Many of the activities and events are held at the Greenwood Recreational Facility (The Blue Building), which is owned by the City of Ruston and managed by Ruston Housing through a Cooperative Agreement.


Some of the events are:

• Annual Football Camp

• Coach Wilbert Ellis Baseball Camp

• Fall Festival

• Back to school distribution of supplies

• Summer youth programs in association with the B&GC

• Flag Football in association with the B&GC

• Black History Month

• Food Distribution – Last Thursday of the month

• Christmas Community Dinner

• Thanksgiving Day Dinner
